What is Habitat for Humanity?

Habitat for Humanity of Camden County (HFHCC) operates in the City of Kingsland and Camden County Georgia. Habitat for Humanity charges no interest to the homeowner and makes no profit from building with our low-income families.

HFHCC is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor, sweat equity, into building their Habitat homes and Habitat homes of others.

HFHCC tries to keep our building costs low by utilizing contributions, donated materials and volunteer labor. Donations come from individuals, churches, local businesses and corporations. Our volunteers come from every walk of life from school children, housewives, blue/white-collar workers, professionals to retirees.

HFHCC is a Christian based ministry open to anybody who believes that everyone deserves a simple, decent and safe place to live and in our goal of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness in the Camden County area.

HFHCC does not offer short-term housing, rental housing or immediate occupancy.
Habitat families are selected without regard to religion, race, ethnic background, family status or disability.

If you believe in Habitat’s goal and wish to contribute towards reaching it then visit our How to Volunteer page or Donations page.
